Haha, good one! I would never have figured it out. Still I would gotten my way & ensured I was with my soul-mate 
I think I ruined the riddle for the rest who didn't attempt the riddle.
Here's one of mine to make amends:
What is something that walks with two legs in the morning, four legs in the afternoon and three legs in the evening.
*Note its a Soomali googaa, don't take everything in its literal context. I think also, it loses meaning in its transliterated form but yeah try nonetheless.
