I suppose so James, however this is a big problem in Somalia today. Why do you think Somalia is not stable today? Because every Clan believe its their right to rule the country.

Somalis don't want the best person to rule the country, they want their clan to rule the country. Every clan believes somehow their clan is the best, there's no such a thing as equality in Somalia.

Arabia is split into Clans, Africa is split into Clans...a lot of those countries have put aside their differences....for the life of me I cannot understand the problem with Somalis.

I'm happy with being Somali, I honestly believe with clan differences aside....Somalis will be very successful.

I think that is a common belief, that it is clan divisions that fuel the fighting. I do not believe this to be precisely true.

The clan divisions allow opportunists the opening they need to seize power, and then use that power to exploit their people and conquer and exploit their neighbors.

The warlords and foreign nations that have exploited clan divisions have not done so to further those clans' interests, but their own.

The problem with Somalia is there is no authority strong enough or respected enough to prevent this from happening.

dawwa...Oromos are not like the other xabashi..i remember the first time i saw them on t.v...these two diffierent Oromo tribes were fighting over resources or something like that in Kenya..and wallahi i could have sworn they were Somali..untill i heard them speak..their language is quite similar to Af Somali too...before that i have never seen Oromos..only heard about them ..read about them..it was really spooky

I have been to Addis and most people there were Oromos

They look kind of like Somalis but are a lot shorter, average Oromo male height is like 170cm while for Somalis it is 184cm.

Plus they ALL have Jareer hair, Soft hair is not common in Oromos, maybe a few have it but the fast majority don't.

They also somewhat lighter then Somalis. (Because of the highlands they live in)

Why would they call themselfs Somali, if they have more Oromo blood then Somali or if their father is Oromo?

Many Somalis in Harar/Dirre Dawa have Oromo blood too but they don't call themselves Oromo.

Addis Ababa is in the Oromo heathland, most people are pure Oromos with barely any Amhara blood.

There is no record of Oromo settelment of most somalia , the Oromo oral history never claimes any part of somalia that tells you the pre-islamic somalis (non Isaaq non Daarood) were in somalia for thousands of years.

Somalis introduced both camesl and horses to Xabashis and the unique persian black headed sheeps.
