Orodoo soo qoyso
The houses in the west are built on loox(wood), in somaliland they are build on Jaajur(Dhagax). Not in 100 Million Years will wind destroy those houses.

i wanna save up to buy a house in Hargeisa, but lookin' at the current homes...i don't like the way they build them. i'm gonna build one from scratch and make sure it has a very lush lawn and a garden in the backyard. i don't see any homes with lawns thus far...inshallah, my home will be the first.

Do you know what people that work for Somali NGO's do..
For Example a guy working for UN in Somalia is ordered to buy 10 Jeeps.
He goes to the place to buy them, buys them for lets say 150.000$ but then asks the guy for an invoice stating he bought them for 200.000$ and the bastard keeps the 50.000$ for himself..
Happens a lot within Somali NGOs

In Dubai they use filtered sea water (with no salt anymore) which takes a lot of energy to do it (oil)
Two things Hargeisa doesn't have:
-Oil
-Sea water
Maybe its good for cities like Djibouti, Berbera and Bosaso

well the state of Navada has neither and they still manage to bring in the water...point is, Nevada is part of the US..and the US has cities with "oil" and "seawater". i hope u get my drift.

Nevada is in the rich USA, they use aquifers (underground lakes, google it) which will even cost more money than using desalinated sea water..
Hargeisa is doomed, already more people than water
In Bosaso you can already use desalinated sea water

^^Driest place in Somalia
