How important is it for you to....

find a spouse who practices the religion Islamically?!

Finding someone who values the diin is an essential asset and an investment in a healthy prosperous future. Would you agree?!

We may all be young, and careless to the fact now, but situations change as we grow older. Allah may bless you with "hadaaya" one day and as a husband or wife you would want someone who complements you. You would want someone who prays, fasts, gives to the poor, goes to the masjid as often as possible (particularly men)

Right now, we all probably want an attractive person with a nice body, a deep pocket, a decent personality etc, but do you ever ask yourself......ladies "will my husband take his sons to the masjid, will he go himself?" guys "will my wife teach my daughters modesty and to cover up"

This whole month I've seen wives with their daughter's (mashallah), husbands with their sons. Pregnant women, newlyweds, college students all coming to the masjid...........then there were those who were unaware that it was even Ramadan and a month full of blessings!

Then I asked myself, what type of future would I want, what type of husband?! Do I want a husband who sleeps and works, and knows nothing about diin.......he may pray but that's about it or do I want a husband who takes all of us to the masjid every night because he knows the value?!

Anyways, I just wanted you all to remember how important it is to find someone who puts Allah and aqira first, and not the world. Think long term, not short Inshallah :!:

SnS,

That was very sweet of you to write.

But I think you put way too much emphasis on finding a husband. I mean you're whole livlihood does not depend on it....

no offence!

A man who practices his diin is the first criteria he must meet in order for me to consider me even dating him. If he does not pray, he is out of the question.

Of course I also want him to be attractive among other things

And he must love his family (because if he is not good to them how can be good to me?)

You can never over-emphasize the person who will share the rest of your life with you

Abdi,

I agree and disagree. Finding someone who practices more then yourself helps you become more practicing, depending on how well you want to improve yourself. Then again there can and will be problems if one person is more practicing and the other does not want to change. Frustration and anger will definitely be a result!

Helwaa,

You stick to your "hot, steamy" sauna's and I'll worry about a man who values his diin!

Nalia,

Why would I not want to put emphasis on my husband?! It's an investment in my future. Why am I in school?! so I can have a better future right........

Rayan,

I swear someone told me you were a guy  ......sorry

Ayantu,

I'm glad sis, May Allah bless you with one, because it's truely a blessing!!

Madd,

Why don't you give us your opinion, instead of agreeing with the opinion of others!!

Suga,

Yes, you also should find out if they share the same schools of thought and customs. I am more closer to the Dariiqa Suufi than I would be the with Ikhwaan. So if she is very ikhwan, then there would be clashes in how the children are raised.

Abdi,

Rayan,
