We all know that the Tigray ethios have become silly in thinking that they could colonise somalia through the puppet TFG, that was very foolish.

Somalia is now back in the hands of the free somali liberation forces.

When it first formed I thought it was kind of a stupid idea (wasn't something like the 4.5 formula pretty much responsible for all the corruption and inaction of democratic Somalia from 1960 to 1969?) and they were kind of a joke as they couldn't find a capital and kept moving from town to town.

Like most people I was unaware of exactly how involved Ethiopia was in the creation and establishment of the TFG and thought it was a fairly elected government, it wasn't until much later I found out the circumstances of the conference in Kenya and how exactly they established their base in Baidoa.

It was honestly a shock when Ethiopia crossed the border, and people did nothing to stop them. It was only then, having understood the situation well at the time, that I understood how the Muslim world must have felt when Iraq was invaded.

You should know that I have followed closely A/Y's policy moves since in office, and they have all involved filling his pockets with Chinese money and preventing people from investigating him for corruption. This was quite easy to do as the rest of the TFG is far too busy yelling at each other and throwing chairs at each other and screaming, defecting to other countries, and having each other assassinated to bother getting around to investigating A/Y's misdeeds.

The TFG's ultimate and most resounding failure was when, having been handed the whole south on a silver platter by the Ethiopian military, their opponents cowed, the clan leaders terrified, the Islamist fleeing across the border and absolute and total victory basically just given to them, they managed to piss it all away.

They squabbled and fought amongst themselves and didn't even seem to notice when the Islamists crept back across the border and established bases. They were not perturbed when the clan leaders began growing another pair of balls and telling the government to go to hell, and re-taking the countryside only to be then reconquered by the Islamists. They were much to busy with their stupid infighting and pathetic squabbles to notice that they were losing more and more territory until today they are basically back where they started out from.

It's pathetic. Somalis should be ashamed that this government is the one that is internationally recognized. It's a national disgrace.

I'm more optimistic (or perhaps just less qabiilist) than you are, I believe that, at least in the south, the majority of people have finally put aside qabiil as a stand-alone ideology and national foundation, and are instead using it as one component of a broader strategy to building competent administrations. Galmudug, while largely homogeneously Sacad, has included every minority within its territory with representation in the government, and has emphasized regionalism over clan nationalism. The ICU and Shabab have discarded clan entirely and do not consider it a building component at all.

I believe that this is easier to do in the south, where qabiilism is less strong and also less practical (as people are scattered everywhere and intermixed with all kinds of different clan groups and ethnicities). Galmudug is perhaps the furthest south that one could construct a practical and workable state with qabiil as the primary building component of the state. By the time you get as far south as Kismayo, even clan-based administrations throw qabiilism out the window in "strange bedfellow" administrations, such as the Juba Valley Alliance. Al-Shabab almost went out of their way to spit in the face of qabiilism and appointed an Isaaq as head of Kismayo.

Besides, wether I am more qabilist or not is irrelevant here.. We measure things by some conventional indexes..and they are all leading to a fruitful and positive outcome.

I could care less about the details..cos in this case..the devil is NOT in it. We need a peace accord..and we are about to reach there soon.

Galmudug is quite public about the fact that the Saleeban and Shiikhaal have representation in Galmudug, as well as Dir (who are everywhere) and even a Benadiri outcast clan of fishermen called the Jaaji. Don't get me wrong, the vast majority of representatives are Sacad, but they have literally bent over backwards to acknowledge the minorities of Galmudug. They also try to avoid the qabiil issue and constantly emphasize that it is a regional state, and avoid even SAYING Sacad when talking about the basis of the state. If it does come up, it's in a long list of clans that attended the talks that brought about Galmudug.

In the south, clan has become a dirty word.

The TFG seemed to be interested in wiping out the people they claimed to represent, they called the internally displaced people as terrorist which resulted in a huge blow to their credibility in the eye's of the somali people.

They were viewed as mere puppets of Ethiopia and as a tribal coalition, AY who was the head of the TFG vowed to wipe out the Hawiya population which was a real shock.

Galmudug is seen by many as a state that has stood up for the interest and well being of the people of southern somalia. During the horrible ethiopian shelling of Mogadishio many people fled to Galmudug where they found safety and shelter as well as support.

I believe that Galmudug also has a significant Abgaal representation.

It would be fantastic if Galmudug could help bring unity and better cooperation between the admins in Hiiraan, banaadir and shabelle and kismayo and gedo itself.
