DO WE ENCOURAGE OUR YOUNGSTERS TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST ASIAN/JAMICAN YOUTH GANGS - KNIVES, FEAR, TERRITORIAL THREATS OR LEAVE THEM TO DIE??

SHOULD THEY RESPOND TO VIOLENCE WITH MORE VIOLENCE AND BE THROWN IN PRISON?

HOW CAN WE REDUCE THIS... HOW DO WE TACKLE IT?

THESE YOUTH/COMMUNITY (SOMALI) ORGANISATIONS ARE SUCKIN OUT GOVERNMENT MONEY AND SHOW NO RESULTS OF SUPPORT TO OUR BOYS....

But i dont think that works with these young boys anymore.

As ussual i saw them standing at Argos (Birmingham) divided in groups of Qabiil, hoodies and gangsta walks, iPod blasting in speakers, name calling to girls their age walking by. WHAT IS THE POINT?

They are picking up this behavour from MTV Base and 50 cent music video. Their mothers are not challenging them, no father figure around..

Never had time for anything other than basketball when I was younger. My whole life revolved around going to school, coming out, going to the Boys and Girls Clubs or the YMCA, playing basketball all day until the place was closed and then hitting home. And as soon as I got a job, I was too busy to do anything. The UK needs to tackle this problem by providing jobs to teens. Only those that have free time on their hands will get involved in gangs.

THEY DO HAVE JOBS,TRAININGS AND EVEN APPRENTICESHIPS FOR THESE KIDS THROUGH AGENCIES LIKE CONNEXIONS, SHAW TRUST, JOB CENTRES AND YOUTH CENTRES. PLENTY!!
EVEN THE PROBATION SERVICES OFFER THESE OPPERTUNITIES.

I THINK THERE IS LACK OF AWARENESS OF LOCAL SERVICES.
ALSO, THESE YOUNG MEN ARE NOT MOTIVATED OR INSPIRED BY THOSE AROUND THEM.....
