Why did Swedish and Dutch Somalis move to the UK in large numbers? Nothing wrong with those economies right? actually they even score better in Human Development Index than the UK, what was their reason?

They were told to go and get jobs, and they wouldn't and then the stick was used to get them to go get jobs, and they left. Simply their social benefits were revoked and they left for England.

The British Protectorate was barely a colony of England, some dispute whether Northern Somalia was even colonized at all. Since the British already had colnies in EA and Arabia their interaction with Northerners were limited to the Sultans or pastrol clan cheifs. The British built little, Northern Somalia wasnt strategic but more land for the imperalist in Africa. Regretably Maakhir didnt utilize the British to build infrustracture in the region and further its agenda of becoming a independent state after the British left.

The Italians well had little presence in Africa Mogdhushio and Asmara, besides the other tiny colonies the Italians needed to have a presence in Africa so Mogdhushio was nothing but a prostitute waiting for its pimp.

Executive, make up your mind man, if the British didn't build anything meaningful its because of that fool MM, and his waste of life and time actions.

Italy built its settlements exclusively for its settlers, Italians. Somalis, Hawiye and Bantus, were indentured labor or slaves not entitled to Italian settlements and were only there to clean the city. Daroods knew the savagery of Hawiyes, we threw them off cliffs and into the sea, so too did the Italians who were warned and practiced our behaviour techniques.

Lucky the italians didnt stay like the Boers. Mooryans even looted the graves of Italians in 2000, aqli Hawiye.

Abgaal your grandpa was a stepping stone for the italians I mean it in a literal sense.

In 1966 Hargeysa consisted of less than twenty stone buildings and maybe a hundred acres of aqal camp. There were no roads and the only staple food available was rice that had been contaminated with rat urine and feces. Everyone wore the same off-white clothing. There was no visible British presence.

Mog at the same period was all composed of solid structures, with a population I am guessing of about 50,000. There were paved streets. Food was plentiful and cheap. You could buy ready-to-cook chickens, fish, sweet butter, fresh rooti or sambuussa. Rice and kpasta were plentiful and clean. People wore the kind of clothing that is now thought of as "Somali". There was a sugar mill in Jowhar, a leather factory in Baraawe, plantations in Afgoye, Kuumsuumma, Jamaame etc.

The British used Somaliland as a source of fresh meat for their troops stationed in Aden, and that was about it. The Italians developed bananas, a small gold mine and a tuna fishery. But the Somali colonies were a net financial loss for both Britain and Italy. In hindsight, I would say the Italians developed a far more advanced educational and economic system and demonstrated more heart. I have to question the "damage" done to the Somalias during the trustee administrations following WWII. The folks I knew certainly did not seem to be oppressed.
