Mog in the Sixties was not that big, and not that much of it was built by Italians. Hamar Caddey wasn't. The outskirts weren't. The new residential developments were all by Somalis, and I don't think the Italians built the Isbahaysiga mosque. A Somali had built the two tallest structures in cast concrete.

There was no port. The first international airport came in 1967. The only paved roads were in the immediate downtown area. There really wasn't much infrastructure. The truck park for rides to Kismayu was easy walking distance from Shingaaani.
