Amina,

I'm just curious to know if you are Muslim, if so, did you become Muslim after you met your husband?

What kind of Question is that?

She is a muslim alhamdulilaah. It does not matter when or how she became a muslim. What matters is that she is a muslim now. How many somalis are now either christians, gays, or eithist. Allah does not care when someone became a muslim. all he cares is who is a muslim now and who is not.

As for her husband, She converted him to salafi-islam herself. he was ahlu Sade Waljamaaca before.

A true Muslim doesn't convert to Islam by a spouse or partner. A real Muslim is 1 who God has guided and as a result goes In search for a like-minded husband/wife.

Allah guides people different ways and if it's through a muslim husband then there's no problem with that and no reason to doubt her Islam. I've heard many stories about women who become muslims and many times better than their husbands. In the eyes of others there shouldn't be any difference if someone converted 5 years before marriage or 5 days before, that person is as much muslim as anyone else if there's no proof suggesting differently.

In the case of recent male convert on the other hand I wouldn't recommend anyone to give his daughter to him in marriage before that guy has been a muslim for some time and firm and knowledgeable and sincere in his diin.

Anyway, I feel that Amina/Tammy's husband is a very lucky guy, just visit that blog and check out those pics.

I wish the best for her and her family.
