kambuli, our community is ignorant in that subject wallahi, even a pakastani friend of mine was questioning me about a similiar subject, i was , but forreal the mass need to be educated in our diin and dhaqan, just cus u replaced walaal with akhii does not mean it get's u closer to janna etc.

for some people it is pure ignorance and for others it is because they have lived in the middle east and are more familiar with arabic music than somali like somali kids raised in the west are more familiar with hiphop and other western music than somali. personally i have never been to a wedding where they played even a single arabic song. i would not be at a wedding where they played arabic music for even few minutes, i would doze off really quick. arabic music is kindda gay to me but to each his own.

I just never thought Kambuli, oo qof weyn ah oo caqli leh, would outright come up with a b.ullshit story like that following the pattern we have seen recently in Somalinet. Somalis saying hees SOmalis is xaram but hees Arabic is not?

Either you guys have got to be the biggest b.ullshiters or have to go to be related to the most ignorant people out there.

I can't even imagine such a thing in real life.

this is the reason i advice, islamic education for kids than cultural teaching.
to differ between what is cultural and what is deen and what is cultural but islamic acceptable but cultural and what is a culture but against islam.
