ahmed guray or al ghazi whichever you prefer was a somali.

how?

since sheikh darod and sheikh isaq came to somalia from arab lands
but today are considered to be somalis then its safe to say that
the man in question is also a somali.

but why do all somalis tribes (darods, isaqs, dirs, d and m, even hawiyes) claim the man?

hawiye, dir, and d&m claim to be the natives of somalia and also sharing the same origin
some guy named somali. darods and isaqs being adopted also makes them somali so therefor
they can all claim the man in question who shares the same fate as darods and isaqs.

how?

both darods and isaqs married from dir(somali)
darods gave birth to ahmed guray by marrying from the isaqs
hawiyes d&m share lands with darods the reason why they backed ahmed guray in his conquest
so case closed.

all evidences was gathered from snet to the best of my knowledge
i have tried to explain in details to show that somalis fuck each other yet hate a each other. :D :D :D

Had the Imam, some male descendants?
Those of you who read Futuh al Habesha, is there any allusion to his sons?

Before answering whether the Imam was Somali or not, you have to question the nature and the ethnic compstion of Adal sultanate.
If it was a Somali sultanate, whether the Imam was ethnic Somali or not, the glory goes to you Somalis...

This was my post in another thread, which interestingly got no replies.

Some interesting things we know about Imam Ahmed and this era;

1. He had to fight and subdue other Muslims to bring about unity (thus "attacking peaceful regions")

2. Games, Dancing, & music were banned (thus trampling on "peoples freedoms")

3. National symbols and banners were banned (thus "trampling on our national identities")

4. There were constant wars which costed many lives (thus "hindering peace and stability in the region")

All of this supported by the book Fath al habasha. So lets go back in time 500 years... how many of you would be working with Libne Dingel and the Portugeuse to get rid of these extremists?

It was a religious war not a nationalistic war. You might as well don't call yourself a Muslims if you worked with Libne Dingel and the Portuguese. That would be extremely low.

What if for example the Libne Dingel and the Portuguese found a guy named Ahmed or Muhammed and supplied him with weapons and training instead.

The Imam Ahmed's wars can be regarded as a revolt of a vassal against his monarch...
Both antagonists utilized the rivalry between the then two super powers of the area to advance their agenda.

Religion was probably a cover
