Interesting..these people seems to have more of a build then today's Somalis who are thin and lanky..i see more oromo and other African features...but only 120 years ago?

Xamari, they look oromo because of the hair and hard life, just imagine them in a macawiis and hairless, waa farax of today.

You do have a point of being build, it was actually natural, everyday was a good exercise for them

120 years ago is like my greatgrandfather or great great-grandfather, people do not look different in such a short time. Lakiin the people on these pics look quite exotic and some typical.

Are they all from one location or they are reflective of Somali people.

Back then Somalis were very segregated along tribal lines.

Beautiful pictures. Although some of them look more Oromo than Somali.

I like the traditional outfits and accessories, also the hair do's are very nice.

I agree most of them dont look somali but rather oromo or anfar.

Voltage if they are indeed somali than it is most likely they are from the north since that part of the country was photographed and researched more.

Warsame, where did you get the pictures? are they from a book? they look like pictures you would find in museums.
