Sheikh Sharif made big mistake to call for peace with ethiopia. He should have said that zenawi committed war crimes and must be brough to tribunal trial.
But you know, iam not surprised because the sheikh has been promised money to say such thing.

Just admit it, Shariif is cozing up to the TPLF because he wants to be able to return and govern. Which won't happen without Meles's blessing.
If Meles' blessing was the main prerequisite to governing Somalia, Hiraale would be sipping tea in Kismayo today.

lol
We all know how many paper governments Somalia has had since the overthrow of the Kacaan. What makes you think Shariif's government (If he were to be selected) would be any different?
Take off your qabiil lenses for a sec and be realistic.

wallahi xoogsade beentaa ma ahan. what is happening in jabtuti will not be fruitful thats for sure. this is like 8 years ago when abdiqasim salad was elected. everyone became optimistic that something would materialize, but the stubborn warlords opposed them. today we have a similar story, if the sheriff is elected, alshabaab (one of the few groups who control large areas) will oppose him too, for their own reasons.

Sxb, I have 20/20 vision, I don't need glasses.
You have every right to be pessimistic and the truth is no-one can say with 100% certinity what the future hold. But I prefer to be optimistic.
Ethiopia has no role in the Jabuti process, heck the whole idea of holding the elections in Baidoba was their plan to hijack the process. Whatever, comes out of Jabuti will come with the endorsement of the International Community and a mandate to correct the problems of the last 21+18 years. Certainly, it is not a fool-proof process and there are characters involved who shouldn't be there but any solution to our problems has to be gradual. The usual emotional/qabil cries will fall in deaf ears I hope this time around. Both the real candidates have invested energy and time to take the Ethiopians out and isolating the warlord elements of the TFG. I would prefer them to continue their work and build on to their successes.
Using Ethiopia as an excuse this time around will not work.

What is Al Shabab
People are treating them as some sort of super-men. Let Guri El and Dhusomareb serve as a clear example of the true power of these lunatic maniac group. They are good for bullying small clans and entering peaceful regions. Beyond that they are useless

Right. So
when this paper government fails, we can solely blame the Somali participants.

Well, no-one can stand on the way of fate. But efforts are in place to make this thing worthwhile. Hopefully it delivers.

You're right sxb. The reason why the TPLF is pulling out ahead of the announcement of the next president of the TFG is to allow Shabab (not the TFG) to takeover where ever they vacate. The cycle continues.
TL
Sxb you're right about one thng. Ethiopia has no role in the Dj conferene and thats why they're pulling out before a 'gov't of national unity' is created so as to not allow them a place to return to. Xamar is in chaos, Bay, Bakool, Gedo, Jubboyinka, & Shabeelada Hoose are under Shabab & allied groups.
Tell me, where will these fail proof government of yours be based in? Small sections of Xamar, Shabeelada Dhexe & parts of Hiiraan? How will it be different from the previous 'administrations'?
Ethiopia has no interest in seeing a united southern Somalia and Somalis aren't willing to compromise to make create a viable government that has support from all qabiils.
Somali 'leaders' would be wise to put off worrying about forming national government and focus on regional administrations like that of Puntland & Somaliland because those have a better chance of succeeding than a national government that only exists in recycled paper.

xoogsade, bro its time to be technical. the only group which has ever brought stability to our capital, is the islamic courts. i know they had many qaladaad, but wallahi i think they were genuine marki hore. they deserve their right to rule the capital because they done what none other had done sxb.
