What Is Happening to Gedo/ Hiiraan/Mogadishu Subclans?

Postby Nolol cusub » Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:38 pm

In the 1990 the Somali subclans mentioned above were assertive and protective of their regions, had exclusive militia and had been major source of regional power In Somalia. Today the groups from Gedo, Mogadishu, and Hiiraan have all lost their regional and historical distinctiveness either to professional Ethio-warlords or socalled Islamic militia.

Of the three alternative roads to Somalia institutional development isn't time the rest of Somalia's subclans to adopt what worked for Somaliland, Puntland and Galmudug instead of either waiting an imaginary central government who will fix everything in their regions or worse trusting a selfseeker religious warlord who wants to wage internal jihad against a Muslim society.

Why can't the rest of Somali regions follow suit the examplary foot steps of Somaliland, Puntland and Galmudug?

From observation Somali religious movements cannot be trusted to waxar. The warlords have also proved themselves for more than decades they are also morans. Since this is the case what else is left for other regions except to look out for themselves.

The Future

Imagine a regional administration without wadaad siyaasadeed and warlord invested by the people, elected by the people and accountable to the people.

Saying it differently,

Suppose the usual jabuti governments arrive next month and tries to spend the next 4 years in one of Mogadishu's hideouts. The religious warlord movements will also try to push the other groups back and forth and will lay many lands to ruin. More people will be caught in the middle.

Since this is the case why don't the regions try to get their territories back and lookout for themselves like the 3 regions.

What do Somaliland, Puntland and Galmudug get to lose if Somalia has a typical paper government or religious war in the south?

Nothing, these administrations will serve their people as they do know.

What do the rest of the regions get to lose?

Everything. On the top of idiotic and unnecessary war where many people are killed there will be no schools the youngesters, economic development for the regions, refugees to other country.

NOLOL-

You know what they say. It is those who fight the hardest embrace peace and non-violence the best.

Speaking for Gedo, I know that clan has absolutely no stomach for fighting. I remember there was a time when they used to get goosebumbs of excitement thinking about war   but not anymore.

Embrace peace because of the clan is no longer militaristic it is harder for warlords to take advantage of a formed organization to sow death and destruction in the country.

In the long run, they are doing a good service to Somalia. 8-)

I would like a Jubbaland state for the Somali people, be they Darod, Hawiye, or Raxanweyn, that live in the Jubba valley as part of a future Somali federal state, yes.

They're all the same, I don't see how Hawiye subclans have a claim to Xamar and we get left out

I don't want a regional administration, where Ceyr get 50% of the seats and the other 50 goes to men they hand pick

Cawar

People who have adminstrations in their regions can engage a long discusion about the definition of the Mogadishu subclans. Let us just give the forum to young people from these regions and see what they want to do with their regions?

Voltage,

Try to represent Gedo people and try to leave the shadow of other Somalis and assume the role of Somaliland, puntland, and Galmudug early organizers. Also try to push aside your professional warlords like Abdi Hirale and the religious people. Think Gedo elders, intellectuals, business community and expatriates all in one place and wanting to have regional administration that would keep their people from harm and assist them in peaceful development.

Do you think it is desirable? Do you think it is possible? if so, how if not why?
