Iran joins the orbital spaceflight club

Postby James Dahl » Tue Feb 03, 2009 9:40 am

Iran has launched a satellite into space, thus joining the exclusive club of nations capable of orbital insertion and spaceflight, and the fourth Muslim nation to successfully do so (Pakistan was the first in 1961, Indonesia in 1976 and Malaysia in 2000).

It's much needed as well, it's good to see more nations breaking the space barrier.
Iran may not be the first Muslim country to launch a satellite into space, but it's a great achievement nonetheless.

I don't think they launched their satellite themselves though, which means that the position of First African Nation to achieve spaceflight is still open. Somalia could be that nation, Israel managed to launch with a budget of only about a million a year.

Iran does not need spaceship. It needs to man up and attack Israel. Better yet destroy couple of oil tankers in the gulf peninsula. A little chaos and mayhem in Arabia is what is needed.

QansaGabeyle I can't help it bro. Both volume and volatility is low. Damned Obama is taking too long with his proposed stimulus. An all out war is the best news I can hope for and Insha Allah it shall happen.

james dahl why are you always the half blind leading the blind?
Can i tell you that you go it wrong.

IRAN THE FIRST ISLAMIC COUNTRY THAT HAVE SENT A HOMEMADE STATELITE INTO ORBIT.

WHY DON'T YOU READ BEFORE YOU POST?????
This list includes countries with an independent capability to place satellites in orbit, including production of the necessary launch vehicle. Note: many more countries have the capability to design and build satellites — which relatively speaking, does not require much economic, scientific and industrial capacity — but are unable to launch them, instead relying on foreign launch services. This list does not consider those numerous countries, but only lists those capable of launching satellites indigenously, and the date this capability was first demonstrated. Does not include consortium satellites or multi-national satellites

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite

THE LIST IS:
Soviet Union
United States
France
Japan
United Kingdom
India
Israel
Iran

IRAN THE ONLY 8TH COUNTRIES TO LAUNCH A HOMEMADE STALLITE
