Sh Sharif should negotiate with the Asmara wing and all indications point to the unification of the two ARS camps. Once that is taken care off, Al Shabab should be eliminated. They serve no useful purpose now and in the long-run will become a liability.

No I don't wish that. Damn I have experience more war than most members of Somalinet so I know first hand that war is really ugly. This Al shabaab dude talking is my ina adeer but I would happily kick his ass if I had the chance.

What are these indications? Last i knew The Asmara wing united with Raskamboni and two other groups to put up a united front against sh sharif and TFG.

That was a rash decision. They will slowly come-back to their senses.

Sheikh Sharif can not play the cards of Abdualhi Yusuf he really needs to realize that. He can not and should not play the politics of Abduallhi Yusuf. What he needs to do is stick with the path he started on which is that of Al Shabaab iyo Islamic Courts. The Somali state must be rule by the Qur'an rather than the piece of paper they call constitution!!!

Easier said than done. How do you eliminate young men who hail from all somali clans? Alshabaab has relatives and large segments of Somalis sympathise with them. Dad tol la'aan hayso ma ahan. Sheekh Shariif better deal with them peacefully. This is what they look like

They have the same stance as Puntland. Maybe we should form an alliance with them and show the world that we chose our own leaders they are not hand picked by NGO and made President of the Republic. The true powers on the ground have spoken and Sheikh Sharif is not welcome. He can stay in Djibouti and be their President since he was elected there.

I don't think Sh Sharif will fail. There is just so much activity going on the ground that will render the black eyes useless.

Having said that, I wish Sh Sharif starts appreciating the Somali clan landscape instead of being overly idealistic.

99.99% of Al Shabab come from a single clan. I am not even going to argue about their "diverse" qabil backgrounds. If they were honest bombs will be going in Kismayo and Baidoba.

Anyway, I see some of you folks are purely responding with clanish lenses. Some of you oppose Alshabaab because you are Hawiye and think they are going to spoil something for a Hawiye president. Some of you may be reeling from warlord A/Y's loss and just about support anything that would undermine Sheekh Shariif. Step out of the emotionality please and consider our country's great need for stability and for Somalis who are thirsty for peace. Just because your clan fiefdom enjoys a subclan coup and others just tow the line to keep the peace in your clan region, it doesn't mean that you should forget about other somalis who need at least some semblance of peace, the kind your clan enjoys out there in their desert tuulos and little shanty towns. So, for fock's sake, respond with maturity and demonstrate you share the fate with the rest of Somalis. Alshabaab can not be annihilated because they are men who can fight. Likewise, they can not take over entire Somalia without the help of Somalis. What we have now is a political dispute. It would be foolish for Alshabaab to turn this into a religious war since that would be a hard sell to the hearts and minds both them and Sheekh Shariif are fighting for its support.
