Adiga your reference frame has to be the Afghans miyaa?? maybe because they are closely linked to each other and preserve their culture more than maalis, maybe because their kids dont consider themselves as Jamaicans and/or AA's etc etc..there are lots of maybe's.. but the fact remains that somalis were not like this before the civil war..either in qurbaha or somalia.

I met this Somali drunk - he was so drunk beyond belief. It was really late and I was coming back from school, all the shops were closed, and I needed change. I was so happy to see a Somali person - I thought I'd ask him for change for £20 but whatever I said went over his head, and he thought I was asking him for money. I didn't realise he was drunk until I saw him get out a envelope with papers in it, and looking for change for me. Subhanallah. He kept saying '"I sug I sug yaa" He had a whole year's shopping of food with him, and when I asked what is that for, he said " cuntadeeyda ma rabtaa hada, ma cuntadeeyda ma rabtaa hada." When I thought he wasn't looking I ran in the other direction.
