No probs Dawaa, andthe coast is heaven wallahi. Mombasa, Lamu (some big Isaaq al Qaeda was napped by Americans and Kenyan intelligence while I was there

), Malindi are all nice. Lamu and Malindi are not all they are cut out to be, its just small Momabasa without the big city feel and modern feel of Mombasa. Mombasa is nice though, riding in those tuktuks all over the city for just khamsiin 50 shillings
Best place in Mombasa is inside of the city in the nice gated communities of carabta and indians, with somalis and swahili, no adoon.

My family lives in Ganjoni neighborhood, right near wimpy the elephant tusks, real nice part of town wallahi and walk away from downtown. Somali business is everywhere and the biggest market is called "markiiti" 100% Somalia. Also, 90% of the buses between Mombasa and Nairobi are Somali owned and they hav their own refreshment stops, which are only Somali restaurants. In Mombasa, there is only one Somali owned hotel (not lodging but real what we consider hotel) in the middle of downtown and it is Marehan owned. Shiekh Umal had a share but he got bought out by a Uurmidig guy so now it is 100% Marehan. Its funny they don't serve alcohol, but many European tourists stay there.
But I don't think u can get from lamu to Somalia. If intelligence services don't get you thinking your trying to fight for Al Shabaab, al Shabaab will nap you. Highly dangerous area and very remote once you get to those forests.
