People make it seem like its hard to not get shot. I've lived in one of America's worst neighborhoods (top 10) for 12 years of my life. I've seen drive-by shootings, duels, and gunfights with 16 cops involved in front of my house that were so intense that you could smell the gunpowder from many blocks away.

How did I get through that and still manage to graduate high school without even a scratch? Minded my own business and ignored what was around me. That's all you have to do. Just mind your own business and don't glorify these illiterate savages.
