Intellectual honestsy vs Intellectual prostitution

Postby Cawar » Tue Mar 03, 2009 3:09 pm

People may not even be aware of it in their daily lives , but most do become intellectual prostitutes ..unfortunately.

In work , political thinking and even the worst of all ..somali qabilism..

Here is an example of what someone said about the work enviroment.. try to apply it in somali politics and the results are not that great ..

"If you are an employee and desire promotion, put life into everything you do; put in more than enough life and interest to fill each piece of work."

"But do not be servile; never be a flunkey; and above all things avoid the intellectual prostitution which is the vice of our times in many trades and most professions."

"I mean by this the being a mere hired apologist for and defender of immorality, graft, dishonesty, or vice in any form."

"The intellectual prostitute may rise in the service, but he is a lost soul."

"Respect yourself; be absolutely just to all; put LIFE into every act and thought..."

Interesting...

Islam forbids to you become someone else's(a mere mortal human daba ku xaarle like you) property.

Men ought either to be indulged or utterly destroyed, for if you merely offend them they take vengeance, but if you injure them greatly they are unable to retaliate, so that the injury done to a man ought to be such that vengeance cannot be feared.

I wonder what advertising, marketing ,public relations executives and shady lobbyists think of the above piece by Cawar.
If one takes morality out of the equation though, there is big bucks to be made in manufactured reality, biased corporate funded research , and influence peddling..................................OR as others might frame it, greed is good....I guess

lol@cawar. Sxb morality is a relative thing but you're right other than killing someone directly or robbing with gun point, everything has a price. Cash is king mate. Besides you can always cleanse yourself with a little donation here and there.
