family planing

Postby zulaika » Wed Mar 04, 2009 1:14 pm

why is the concept of family planing so alien to somalis? specially with newly weds. if the couple decide to wait few years before having kids. somalis start to speculate all sorts of things like they can't have kids..they are wasting each others time.. etc etc.

there's nothing wrong with family planing. just coz you got married don't mean you gotta start having kids like rabbits right away.

My dear you don't have to explain yourself to these people. Just answer them accordingly and let them know its none of their business. Waqtigey illaahay wax ku seen doono wax waad helaysa.

I am eagerly awaiting the release of the Male birth control pill :P

I do agree with you that its good to delay having kids until the 3rd year unless the wife is getting up there in age.

Misery loves company? They want you to join them in being miserable, that's all it is. Most Somali couples don't know how to raise kids, but that doesn't stop them from dishing them out every year. Talk about a failed society. They frown upon birth control (which is acceptable in Islam to a certain degree), but they do worse things out in the open & even brag about it.
