The weirdest thing inside a Mosque

Postby Cawar » Fri Mar 06, 2009 3:12 pm

Today while the sheikh was making the khutbah talking about Bid'a and things of that nature..
Some guy interrupted him and started questioning the shiekh.. there was almost chaos for some 5 mins in the masjid..
Ppl trying to shut this guy up, the Imaam asking him to wait till after the Khutbah and Salah..

I thought the guy in his mid 40s was somewhat disturbed and mentally unfit, till he finally decided to leave the mosque and took his kid with him..
It was shocking and funny at the same time...never seen such a scene before..

Have you seen something as weird as this in mosque??

But the Imam was Ok with most of what he was saying..

I think this guy who had an Iraqi accent maybe was Shia. and he did not like the fact that the Imam mentioned a hadith in which he talked about Abubakr, Omar and Othman without Ali..

Thats the only reason I thought...made him intervene during the Khutbah..

 I hate people who do that. Even if he is a 'Shia', he should have kept his opnions to himself.

Few months ago, an Afro-American revert was the Imaam, after finishing the first segment of the Khutba, he started talking about donations made to a new Mosque being built, he said Allah (SWT) said "Wa jacalnaa lakumul ardha masaajidan" so we don't need a new mosque, instead, we should give the money (which at the time was close to a $ million) to the homeless. Mind you he is not in charge of the mosque being built. Then a white revert stood up and really gave it to the Imaam in a very heated and loud voice and even calling him names. Others have to intervene and the white just left without even waiting for the salat.

People do have the right to question the Iman's Khutba after he is done. Sadly most mosques I've been to do not have interactive q/a session after khutba and before prayers.

Atleast he's not questioning the sheikh bisinka. Also the guy was mabye passionate about that subject, so i think he didn't mean any harm.

Damn funny shit happens sometimes, but this was the first time I witnessed ..

Aero, I understand what your saying.. but at least wait till the Khutbah is over.. what good would it do to anyone by interrupting the Imaam??

Or better never go back to that mosque again, but the salat is for Allah and not for what some imaam may or may not say.

Gat, I think the guy was maybe some what emtional, but this dude today said to the Imam .. dont just say one view point , but present others too.. and when the Imam nicely asked him to wait ..he replied why should he, he is making his case..he was doqon for real.

dyme ur right he didn't seem to mean any harm but he did interrupt the khudbah for everyone. This was around the last Israeli bloodbath on Ghaza in January.
