I heard it this morning on NBR. Mr. Obama urged the transnational companies to restrict their issuance of H-1B visa as a condition to getting a slice of the stimulus package.
Mostly, Indians were critical of him and said Obama aught to not clog the pool of professional talent they have, for it benefits both America and India.

It was quite hillarious.

You should get your citizenship. I think part of the requirement for good jobs after the Great Recession is to be a Citizen. Be prepared!

the H-1 visas have become a cottage industry that has been abused to the hilt! It needs to be seriously regulated.

Let us hear the cries of protectionism inserted somewhere in the coming weeks.............

Baasabuur, Obama is the man. He is for those whose skills were either automated or shipped overseas. If he creates more jobs and reverse this man-made tragedy, he will win it another term.

Nothing is wrong with it. In fact, what the Obama administration is doing is part socialism. For social welfare and in times of crisis, socialism is preferable over the system of private ownership. However, you need a market-based system for capital formation, innovation and international trade. After the Soviet collapse, many eastern European states experimented this system and partially implemented a market-based reforms, even Russia.
Haven't you heard the Russian government pumping more money into its stock market to save its currency, so do China and India.
It's good system if checked with part social democracy.
