Does Any 1 else here HATE Job interviews ?

Postby Oxy- » Thu Mar 26, 2009 8:08 pm

Do you get worried about what sort of question they might ask?
Concerned Whether or not you stumble and stutter when talking?
Or at times where your so nervous and anxious you ask them to repeat the question, which they hate doing?

Whats the best tip you have to a successful interview ?

Mine has always been a very simple but valuable one, … Always laugh at their jokes –

But don’t overdo it, otherwise U’ll end up looking like an idiot….. And realize when their making a joke or not… I mean you wouldn’t what them to say for example:

Interviewer:
So do you have any relevant experience regarding this role ?

Person:
Haaa Haaa Haaa < (laughs)

Then only realizing that they were actually asking a serious question and U get their weird look from them almost as if their saying “WTF is wrong with U” :|

all interviews are bullshid, the decision whether you got the job or not usually happened before they scheduled the interview, the reason why they have it is just to physically examine you and look for any flaws that might trigger a rejection vain. Tips would be just dress good, talk normal and look them in the eyes since the west predominately is a high contact culture.

not sure, it probably has to do with the fact that traditionally women were not in the work force and now, they try to act more masculin, tough etc.

It's even worse though when it's with immigrant women, or any other racialized women, they are usually even more of a xaasid than their white counterpart. Becareful with the Indian ones, they are xaasid of all xaasids.

Totally agree. Like they say, first impression counts for a lot and your shoes are the first thing a person notices about you. Most of the time when they ask you a question, they're interested more in how you reply than what you actually say. Obviously your answers are also important so it helps to be prepared and to do your research.

I personally find them a little boring and fake....actually make that a lot. The same as pointless staff meetings.....

No, i dont hate or dislike interviews. It's just trial & error thing, the very first few times, it'll horrify you but later on you will become an expert on how to market your skills.

The best tip I can give, is to research well about the company & its culture, be prepared with your own set of questions and hold on salary discussions untill you secure an offer then the ball is in your court so negotiate well.

Job interviews are always stressful.
Don’t talk too much, only answer their questions as short as you can.
Look strait on their eyes, and keep you arms together and don’t move a lot.
The only way to talk long is when you are talking about something that you know very well and practiced a lot or something that you experienced very well.
The other tip is to check their website and find their company history and their associates.
If they ask you why you are leaving your job? Don’t say anything bad about you previous job, just tell them they are laying folks out or something like that.
Why do we hire you?
When they ask you such question means to see if you can sell their product easily.
The only answer that I will give would be that you are the best of the best seller if it
is retails, or medical jobs.
The answer of why do we hire you?
First don’t say anything for about 30 seconds and then talk about yourself starting from your skills, and your past accomplishments make you the best candidate for that job.
Good luck body and the best tip is silent, and smile.
Every question they ask you don’t answer right away but make like you are thinking and give several seconds before you answer.
That makes you good candidate for that job ….. What most Managers need is good thinker.

I hate when they ask me 'What's your weaknesses? Most of the time I answer that-I am flawless. Fcking expecting me to murder myself?

Also hate when they ask me "Why do you love to work for this company'

Cuz I need to get paid?
