Hyper, I'm not amazed by him, I'm more amazed by Somalis and Muslims who are always on the muslims back, always complaining about them! I have seen him on numerous times write stuff that I didn't not agree with, but the main problem was, they involved internal muslim disagreements.

Waarya, I don't see you everyday telling us about how muslim ladies fared much better than their European counterparts from early on in history? Who cares who ended slavery first???????????????????????? Waarya Americas history is awash with lynchings and brutality! Inalilah, they were by far what you would call savages, and they were cadaan too!

dont act like an idiot. i never compared ladies, i didscussed about the slavery issue. america maybe hypocrite telling saudis to ban slavery in 1970's, but right now, america has a black president. will you prefer to live in saudi arabia with a somali passport? ask somalis with somali passports.

Grant:
u relying on wikipedia too much lad, God knows who edited it. although I might been slightly off in my remarks about bantu being brought by italians, ur source agrees with my point that italians were the first to semi-slave the bantus and make them farm workers.
p.s: are you that white, somali speaking dude that use to post on somaliaonline.com ?

american suufi: dont be quick to judge on saudis man, cuz these kinda of flows could be found in any societies, including us the somalis, we look down on our " minority" class like they were slaves and we call them 0.5

Somalis were strong, mentally and physically. It has nothing to do with being "lazy" no Somali could ever be slaved. Somalis of today, were not Somalis of yesterday!

every culture in mankind owned slaves and were slaves themselves.......the word "slave" comes from the word "slav"after the slavic speaking people of eastern europe........thats because during the Arab slave trade most of their slaves were Slavs from Europe and the english used that word as the basis for all people in bondage...........Julius Caesar also had a famous quote after conquering England that the "english are so stupid they can't even make good slaves".........the Greeks regularly made slaves out of the Germanic tribes to the north of them that they considered inferior.

So with all that, it wouldn't surprise me if Somalis themselves were unfortunately caught into bondage in another land. And I all of you talking about "a muslim can't make another muslim a slave" are gullible. Shit our own people's history tells you that isn't true. Somali people from some of the more powerful tribes regularly made slaves of those without power. For example the Midgan people were basically owned as slaves in some places of Somalia by other Somalis. The Sab people were also sometimes mistreated and made slaves of. If we could make slaves of our own people who are also muslim.........its very easy for me to believe that some warring tribes could've easily captured some men from a tribe they had conflict with and sold them to Arab traders.

You can believe whatever you want, that won't make it factual.

They are more likely to be Habeshis then Somalis, there is no evidence of Somalis being slaves of Arabs!
The time he is talking about is 1920s, the founder of Saudi Kingdom (Ibnu Saud).
At that time there was a Prominent Somali scholar and teacher in the Masjid Al-Haram in Mecca. He influenced many of the prominent Islamic scholars of today & was teaching Quran and Hadeeth to Arabs in Mecca, known as Sheikh Muhammad Al-Somaal
