My hairline is receeding, i think it's the pink lotion that i've been using for years.

May I suggest using olive oil instead of 'pink' lotion.
That lotion u've been using makes your hair dry and dependent on that product.
So put on olive oil in your hair about half n hour b4 u wash ur hair and tiny droplets when ur hair is wet. You'll see a difference in a few weeks.

Isnt the olive oil going to smell?

not if you wash it out.
and a few droplets (like two tiny ones cause u have short hair) ...u cant smell it...
