Somali Skills

Postby sadeboi » Tue Apr 07, 2009 4:26 pm

Someone asked me to translate this poem for them in Somali so I did, what do you guys think of my literacy in Somali?

When I was a young boy I tried to listen
And I wanna feel like that
Little white shadows, blink and miss them
Part of a system I am

Wiil yar markaan aha waan isku dayijirey in aan dhageysto
Hada waxaan raba in aan sa dhareemo
Hoos yaryar oo cad, ilbiriqso weyna ku dhaafi
Qeyb ka mid qaabkaan ahay

If you ever feel like something's missing?
Things you'll never understand
Little white shadows, sparkle and glisten
Part of a system plan

Weliga ma dhareemta in eey wax ka maqanyahiin?
Waxyaalo oo aada fahmikarrin
Hoos yaryar oo cad, dhalaal iyo nuur
Qeyb ka mid qaabkaan ahay

All this noise, I'm waking up
All the space I'm taking up
All this sound is breaking up

Qeyladaan dhan, waan kacaya
baaxadaan dhan oo aan qaadanayo
Dhawaaqan dhan, wuu go go’ayaa

Maybe you get what you wanted
Maybe you stumbled upon it
Everything you ever wanted
In a permanent state

Mindha waad heyshay waxaad rabtey
Mindha waad iskala kulantay
Wax kasto oo aad waligaa rabtey
Ayado meel qasni ah ku tiil

Maybe you'll know when you see it
Maybe if you say it, you'll mean it
And when you find it, you keep it
In a permanent state
A permanent state

Mindha waad ogaan doonta markaad aragtid
Mindha hadi aad tiraahdid, ruun bey ka ahaani
Hadane markaad heshid, waad heysani
Ayado meel qasni ah ku tiil
Meel Qasni ah

When I was a young boy
I tried to listen
Don't you wanna feel like that?

Markaan wiil yar aha
Waan isku dhaye in aan dhageysto
Ma rabta in aad saas dhareentid?

We're part of the human race and
All of the stars and the outer space
We're part of the system plan

Waxaan ka mid nahay bila adaanka
Dhigixyaasha oo dhan iyo samada
Waxaan ka mid nahay qaabka la dhamacsanaa

All this noise, I'm waking up
And all the space, I'm taking up
I said I cannot hear you, you're breaking up

Qeyladaan dhan, waan kacaya
baaxadaan dhan oo aan qadanayo
Waxaan ku iri kuma maqley, codkaga wuu go go’ayaa

Maybe you get what you wanted
Maybe you stumbled upon it
Everything you ever wanted
In a permanent state

Mindha waad heyshay waxaad rabtey
Mindha waad iskala kulantay
Wax kasto oo aad waligaa rabtey
Ayado meel qasni ah ku tiil

Maybe you'll know when you see it
Maybe if you say it, you'll mean it
And when you find it, you keep it
In a permanent state
A permanent state

Mindha waad ogaan doonta markaad aragtid
Mindha hadi aad tiraahdid, ruun bey ka ahaani
Hadane markaad heshid, waad heysani
Ayado meel qasni ah ku tiil
Meel Qasni ah

Swim out on a sea of faces,
The tide of the human races,
An answer now is what I need.

Uu dhabaalo bad wajiyo badan ka sameysan
Xeebta Bila adaanka
Jawaab weeye waxaan hada uu bahanahay

See it in a new sun rising
See it break on your horizon
Oh, come on love, stay with me..

Ka dhex hel qoraxda so iftiimeyso
Ku arag ileyskii cad cede
Oh, kaaley jeceeley, illa jog…
