The way to rid of piracy once and for all

Postby Jam Street » Mon Apr 13, 2009 4:45 pm

This is what some of the Yanks who are now aware of the situation suggested America and others should do

They should just blast all those assholes out of the water and keep going

Live target practice would surely solve this problem...

Time to get serious....no more "trials", no more being P.C. They are pirates on the high seas. Kill them...all of them. Once the world sees that we are not screwing around anymore...they'll stop high-jacking ships. Problem solved.

But this guy is the most reasonable of all and summed up my thoughts perfectly

For those of you on this board who have celebrated the "heroics" of the Somali pirates I have a question: How do their actions benefit anyone besides themselves / their immediate families? Even granting the idea that their attacks might be justified by the illegal fishing and dumping that others have claimed, wouldn't true "heroics" be acting in the interest of the common good, rather than their private pocketbooks?

I cannot challenge the claims of illegal actions by other nations - I have not done enough research to confirm or refute these claims. Rather, I must ask how this pirace relates to the alleged infractions?? I have not seen a single instance of a _fishing trawler_ being captured. Nor have I seen a pirate crew demanding international coveratge of a "dump ship" or container ship loaded with waste - toxic, nuclear, or otherwise. Instead, these pirates have only sought out high-value targets - to include ships carrying RELIEF DONATIONS - that may be ransomed for millions.
And for those of you who condemn the notion of using deadly force to repel said pirates, perhaps you are not aware of the internationally-recognized "law of the sea". These codices universally condemn piracy and condone the use of overwhelming force against pirates.

In the end, there is no difference between these pirates and any land-bound band of brigands. They have shown NO signs of being inspired by a higher cause, nor have they shown any Robin Hood-esque tendencies. They do not "rob from the rich and give to the poor"; they give only to themselves.

Pirate apologists - stop trying to fool yourselves. These are criminals who have shown no qualms at murder and rapine. They deserve any and all punishments they receive, to include the injuries and/or death they may obtain from the crew members they attack.

I welcome any _reasoned_ responses to this missive. However, those that simply state an emotional reaction will be ignored with extreme contempt.

My regards to you all,
Michael S.

The killed pirates were from Haradheere

A relative of one of the pirates, who said he spoke with the men by satellite phone at about 3 p.m. — four hours before the Navy opened fire — said they "were getting scared" and trying to persuade the Americans to let them go in return for the captain's release.

"They were trying to save their own lives," said Hassan Mohammed Farah, speaking by phone from Haradheere, a Somali coastal town where pirates are known to operate.

Walaahi these Dooro bastards are something else. They will fabricate lies about you even when you are right there present.

When and where have i ever said i don't want these criminals harmed if they are Hawiye? Kill them all, i don't f-king care.

This is not to say i think the foreigners are righteous here but their presence doesn't make the situation a little better just because we have Somalis robbing foreign criminals but it makes the enire situation even worse.

If you make the price high for these criminals who prey on aid ships and kill them like this they will not go anywhere near the sea again. Keep in mind these the same merciless mooryans who used to smuggle and throw elderly men and women and children into the indian ocean.

Of course i do believe the pirates are Punanilanders because that is where their headquarters is but my point is, even if they are Hawiye, kill them all.

Stop stuttering. For week now all you did was talk about these pirates with the stated believe they were Puntlanders. Today we know for sure they were not Puntlanders.
