Somalia: Death toll rises after Islamist infighting in central town

MOGADISHU (Mareeg) – At least [color=#FF00BF]ten people were killed in and about thirty five others were wounded in fighting between two Islamist groups has killed in Beledweyn, the provincial capital of Hiran region in central Somalia, witnesses said on Monday. [/color]
Residents said fighters from two Islamist, insurgent groups-Hizbul Islam and Islamic Courts Union-fought in Hawlwadag neighborhood in the centre of the town.

The Islamic Courts Union militia in Beledweyn supports the government of Somalia while the other group Hizbul Islam militia opposes the government.

Sources said the fighting started after Hizbul Islam group opposed an order from the Islamic Courts Union which they ordered the business community to pay tax.

There has been a power struggle between the Islamists in Beledweyn recently.

News from Xamar is that Habar Gedir and Abgaal are pro government and that it is Murusade, Baadicade and the rest of Gugundhabe oo dagaalada wadaan

Aweys and Indhacadde, are in negotiations of joining Sheik Shariif and it looks like they will join

Abu Mansuur is being quiet but busy recruiting boys in Baay and Bakool

But for the most part dagaalka Cumar Iimaan aa wado Xamar and Hiiraan also there is a Murusade guy who was part of the ICU who is also fighting but I can't remember his name now. It looks like they have the support of their beesha's too
