the first pic doesnt look all that good, you can see the pain in those buildings.

If I was part of the Moryaans I would of taken over a Mansion & some wealth and lived well there was enough houses & money for all.. I think they wanted moqdisho to never be settled again & later decided it's the best thing around..

Yes it was a beautiful city, but I don't understand the obsession with xamar? lots of somalia has the potential to look just as beautiful if not better. Or was it the Italian influence of the city people liked so much?

^Its to do with the great italian architecture. Not the beautiful beaches,palm trees because accross the country these things are available.
