Arsenal vs Man Utd preview

Postby Somaliman50 » Tue May 05, 2009 9:41 am

Both teams will being drawing their battle lines at Emirates Stadium on tonight with a place in the UEFA Champions League final at stake. Defending continental and world champions United, who have won the Carling Cup and continue to lead the Premier League, have their eyes on a quadruple of trophies.Defending continental and world champions United, who have won the Carling Cup and continue to lead the Premier League, have their eyes on a quadruple of trophies. Thanks to O'Shea's goal, we have a narrow 1-0 aggregate lead. But Arsene Wenger has not been shy in announcing his young side have what it takes to overcome our advantage.

Van Persie is expected tonight to partner Emmanuel Adebayor - who has come in for criticism following his showing in the first leg - as Andrey Arshavin is cup-tied and Eduardo is injured. However, Mikael Silvestre is a doubt to face us as he is struggling with his own groin complaint, while full-back Gael Clichy is out of action.

As for us, Rio Ferdinand is expected to play after recovering from a bruised lung sustained in the first leg. Ferdinand was left coughing blood after an accidental clash with Edwin van der Sar, but Ferguson is confident he will able to call on the England international. Patrice Evra (leg) is expected to start after being substituted as a precaution in Saturday's PL win at Middlesbrough.

My prediction for the final result; 2-1 to Man Utd
