A Somali man would not write such garbage!

That chant reminds me of those N!ggas in video clips rapping about the cars they drive, the b!tches they do, the money they have, how cool they are, how gangsta they are etc. Their worldview is soo narrow that they boost about simple things while they think that they are THE MAN, not knowing that they are simple creatures in the white-man created system they live in.

A fierce Somali nomad can not act girly and praise himself like a little dhoocil.

-Look how beautiful my curly hair is
-how majestic I look when wrapped from head to foot in my snow-white or jungle coloured tobe
-In my kerrier, my wife, my dear slave, does all the manual work, while tending my offspring, and woe to her if she forgets
to prepare my evening meal. The jeedal (whip) shall then have its turn to make her remember for next day. In
-such a state is any man happier than I?

ma aragtey, the poem is either badly interpreted or not Somali at all.... it actually looks like something the white missionaries would write to make muslims look anti-women

That is the classic poem of Hassan Heile, a 19th century Warsangeli poet.
I will post the actual Somali lyrics.
The British indeed resented the weapons and ammunition coming through the Port of Laasqoray. This direct assistance of the Mullah's army by the sultan resulted in the bombardment of his palace by the Italians.

I concur, Somaliweyne! But this somali nomad who wrote this is a 20th century educated offspring of a Somali nomad blood. He is refined, untuff, unethical & self metrosexual grandiose--an Cilmiile, if you will.

Somali u soooo correct! A somali man nomad or not will not write a poem in such a tone! To call themselves "beautiful", to remark on the "Curly hair", to say-- 'behold me" ...that is not a somali man or a black man writing. I think it was written by a somali woman or a white british gay man.

Will you see a superior qabil, than I stand proudly- before you.
For i am a great, great descendant of mother Yonice, the best of Isaaq.
A clan greater than descendants of Ismael & Isaac.
Majestic in beauty & form.
Fierce in battle & kinder to their cattle.
Tall, light skin, gracefull & superior in intellect.
Countryish but sweetly direct.
Bold, brave at least better than mother of Jeclo.
Teeth gold & unfortunately yellow,
but beautified in the sphere beauty standard of Hargeisa.
I am none other than your Superior Habar Yonise !

Too bad there is no recorded version of it:

Will you see a man? Then behold me!
I am a Somali, as perfect in size and form
as Adam was, after God had breathed
into him his immortal soul. Look how
beautiful my curly hair is, and how majestic
I look when wrapped from head to
foot in my snow-white or jungle coloured
tobe, although there be sometimes only
one pie (a small piece of money) tied to
it. My house is the desert, and I am
born a free man. Free as the wind. I
know neither king nor master. I am as
Adam was, my own master and king. In
the jungle I tend my camels and sheep;
my only labour is to watch them feed.
In my kerrier, my wife, my dear slave,
does all the manual work, while tending
my offspring, and woe to her if she forgets
tp prepare my evening meal. The
jeedal (whip) shall then have its turn to
make her remember for next day. In
such a state is any man happier than I?
