Can someone explain these hadiths....

Postby HELWAA » Fri May 22, 2009 4:32 am

Salaam

A report from Ibn Abbas states that the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: “A previously married woman is more a guardian for herself than her guardian and a virgin should be asked permission about herself, and her permission is her silence. “

Abu Hurairah reports that the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: “A grown-up girl shall be asked permission about herself. If she is silent, it is her permission; and if she declines, there shall be no compulsion on her.” (Muslim).

Yacni ayada iska masuul ah miyaa ???

Yes it means a once married woman does not need a wali while a virgin needs a wali to get married but it can only happen with her permission.

Thats weird.I personally know this divorced lady who could't get married cus her father said no.

One more thing i dont understand is if they dont need any wali why do they always demand that the husband ask her family ( father or uncle) to marry her eventhou she is divorced?

I witnessed many cases like that here.

I guess out of respect for her family. Or maybe they want to be treated like virgins? Nevertheless they have the right to marry themselves off.

E-sista

I knew that a divorced doesnt need a permission from her parents to get married again but not that the husband dont even need to ask her father.Naag kasta reer bay ka dhalatey ina si sharaf leh loo so doono waye...it doesnt matter if she is divorced or not. :|

Xashi

Naagta la soo furay xoolo maaha la iska kaxaysaniyo walaal sidaas daradeed bay oo rabaan ina waalidkood laga so doono amba dadka ay is xigan.
