i'm sure there are plenty of professionals out there..but i wonder one thing though. why is that professional Somalis(and I'm sure they're damn good at what they do) only apply their professionalism manners towards working with others and not somalis.

Zuli:
Its alot easier to interact with a non-somali professionally.
(some) Somali people expect you to cut corners and give them a 'deal' so to speak when you have no accord to do so. If you do (give them a deal) then all will flock to you and something bad will happen. If you dont, you'll be called a sell-out cheap skate!

IMO.

Zulaika,

There are different associations out there but honestly its quite difficult to organize if the participants are from different locations. I am familiar with the Somali Doctors Association and met some of their participants and are quite a cool bunch.

Nalia,

I am going to share a wise adage my Ayeeyo told me, "Insults cost nothing, giving up your money to prevent being insulted is not."

I didnt work with him, he worked in "IT dep" i think, I worked in "lending dep". Anyhow to answer your question: the yspna had an event 3 weeks ago in DC, the next event will be sometime towards the end of the summer.
