Fresh fighting kills eight people in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (Sh. M. Network) - At least 8 people have been killed and more than 50 have been injured in fighting between government soldiers and Hizbul Islam fighters in Yaqshid district in Mogadishu, witnesses told shabelle radio on Monday.


Hizbul Islam has retaken the control of Yaqshid police station on Monday evening.

Government soldiers took over the control of the police station early on Monday.Residents told shabelle radio that both sides have used heavy weapons in the fighting.

Sheik Hassan Mahdi, the spokesman of Hizbul Islam told Shabelle that their fighters took control of Yaqshid police station on Monday evening.

Ali Muse of Mogadishu's emergency services told Shabelle that they have taken 43 injured civilians to Mogadishu hospitals.

Many news websites are reporting the same. Anyways the government of sh.sharif will be a faillure thanks to nabaddiids if it continues like this.

A lot of people missed A/Y I guess? When he was in Moqdisho no Xaraan or Al-shabab dared to make a move. Even Aweis Dahir was stuck in Asmara. Sh.Shariif needs to be firm and deal wit these guys the same firmness that A/Y used

Somaliweyn, There are equal number of African troops, does that make difference? Ethiopians were always on their base, just like the Amsom. It's the Somali Police and army that used to do most of the fighting.

And what's up with the Sheikh meeting up with crooks like Aweis Dahir and Indhocade? he has no business meeting them being the head of a state

Are you talking about when he and the ´´elite commandos´´ from punaniland were hiding behind ethiopian tanks?
