It will only get worse for Al Shabab, I think. Col Omar Hashi with at least 1000 heavily armed men reached Baletweyne today, he will be joined by roughly another 500 ICU troops there. The plan is capture Bulo Burte and Maxas, then attack Jowhar where they will be joined by ~200 more ICU troops.

In Gedo, Bay and Bakool, Hiraale and other guys from the region are expected to reach there with thousands of troops and reports already say that Xudur in Bakool is in government hands.

It is hard to see Al Shabab and Hizbul-Islam making any more inroads. In the number battles, they are being overwhelmed and since residents were fighting side by side with the government troops in Dharkenley and Yaqshid today, it means no public support for them either.

Let's hope for the best.

They need to quit using the ICU name and use the Govt forces name otherwise they come off as a separate unit.

Another issue is how can you tell the difference between them and the enemy if they are not wearing govt soldier uniforms

AW we need to all remember that the UIC name is extremely valuable.

B) It shows that the majority of islamist back the islamic national unity of somalia and that Al-shaytaan are against the sharia Government.
