Are you aware that somalis have started buying property in Nairobi outright and very aggressive. South C has already been bought by the Somalis. Kirinyaga Rd also. Next River Rd. Soon - all of Nrb. CBD - some prime commercial properties have been bought.

All of these guys have Kenyan ID's and are already citizens - What is immigration ministry doing!!!!????

Price is not an issue as for them ransom monsy has to be invested somewhere. What is Raila & Kibaki doing about this. Are we kenyans going to allow this?

Picture this, push comes to shove - the pangas or bow and arrows will not work - their AK 47 will prove it.

This issue should not be taken lightly - Kenyans - are you sleeping or busy fighting ove unga!!

"Most Kenyans are
being evicted from the areas by the exorbitant rents
now being charged. In cases where rent ought to be
Kshs 7,000.00 for a two bed roomed house, people of
Somali origins are coming in and offering the
Landlords Kshs 12,000.00 per month and they pay rent
one year in advance.

Could the ransoms the Somali pirates are demanding
finding its way into our construction sector? Has the
government investigated the source of the Somali
wealth; wealth that makes them pay exorbitant rents
one year in advance? Which is this lucrative business
that is only exclusive to the Somali people? How come
Kenyans who are working so hard cannot make such kind
of money? Some of these things do not add up, and we
need an explanation from our government in defense of
Kenyans."

Can someone please inform odhiambo, the poor confused kenyan who wrote the above comment where somalis get their wealth? As he heard of "Flight 13 western dollar"??? LOL

Here is the thing, xenophobia and dislike of Somali's treatment of bantus in Somalia aside, there is not reason Black Kenyans should hate Somalis.

Somalis are not in industry, they are not in manufacturing, they do not compete in engineering and professional jobs. Somalis are traders. The only traders in Kenya were the Indians before us and the Indians used to literally treat the Blacks worse then white South Africans treated the black South Africans. The only people we have literally driven from any power are the Indians, prices are lower, Indian monopoly has been broken, and the average Kenyan can get his macaa'isho for a much appropriate price then before Somalis entered.

As for the real estate, that is just to feed the needs of the Somali population. When Somalis build a flat, most likely 99% of his occupants become Somalis and it is located in a Somali area. Kenyans will never be affected by what he charges.

Kenyans need to wake up, smell the coffee, and see how much we are contributing to their nation's prosperity.
