I feel bad
He's 28 who grew up in Quebec and came to Canada when he was 4 years old
He was speaking to me in afsomali and I said Siju foqal Siju and I think niyada ka jabiyey
Cause he said, why the fock am i trying when people like me put him down
Now I think he has given up on learning af Somali


Do U think I was right doing that and have U ever done that shiid before?

you should feel bad.
people like you are the reason, my self i would never try to speak somali.
i know every thing in my head but pronousation is difficult.

ps; 28 years old cannot learn somali without an accent.

i mean with out sounding as somali is a second language to him.

i do pronounce worlds differently than my father, because his mother tangue is somali and when i try to speak somali he says: war wahan wa oromo somali ko hadlaya.

He came as a 4 year old and is now 28, and he can't speak Somali. WTF.

There are people who are born in Britain and now in their mid twenties and speak pretty decent Somali. That lad of yours had no excuse whatsoever for not learning Somali. One summer holiday back home would improve his Somali ten fold.

I've ridiculed people like that before but I've felt bad about it afterwards cos I f-king destroyed their self confidence.

If he's so soft, he should prolly give up on life, not just learning Somali.

u did the right thing my ilkoyar friend. I was born and raised in Europe and not amongst Somalis and I can speak accentless Somali and above average Somali reading and writing while I am in my early 20s. He should be put on the spot like that.
