The only argument is that Somalis want to keep their culture and language...things they dub as "pride" - what f-cking pride do Somalis have? Siad Barre half-heartedly joined the Arab League and when he rejected the Arabic language, he paid dearly when the Arabs told Somalia to f-ck off and fend for itself.
There is nothing wrong with being Arabized; Arabs are not a race and they are not a strict cultural group in any sense. They number 300 million and include Whites (Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians, Jordanians, Algerians), Blacks (Upper Egypt, Sudan, Mauritania), and mix-raced people (Egyptians, Moroccans)etc.
I'd love to proclaim myself as an Arab, knowing that there are 300 million others with me who share my language and those of you who are religious would enjoy the perk of speaking Arabic, the language of your holy book. But I can't proclaim Arabism because it would be unfair to those who actually work in the name of advancing the Arabic cause.
The only anti-Arab Somalis are those who are paranoid about Arabs and suffer inferiority complex, those who believe that Arabs secretly and wholly insult Somalis as slaves and niggers. Untrue!
Look at Sudan; because they are members of the Arab League and are seen as true Arabs by their neighbors and because they consider themselves Arabs; their brothers will do anything to keep the country together and to help Sudan succeed in all ways. A collapsed Sudan means a lot to the Arab world, a collapsed Somalia means nothing to the world. Sudan has a major farming deal with their rich neighbors in Egypt to create fertile farming lands between their borders. And when Egypt and Sudan fought, no one intervened. This is brotherhood and this is neighborly love. But when Somalia fought Ethiopia, some Arabs actually took the side of Ethiopia and others turned the other cheek.
I'm all for Arabizing Somalia, at least someone in the world would care about that shit hole and consider that shit hole a brother nation in need of help instead of a virus that needs to be neglected.
