As lost as a student in an exam.....

Postby Paddington Bear » Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:47 am

I have been looking at the topics on this forum and none of them took my fancy. Surely for a forum that has been going this long, there must have been some interesting topics. I notice that I can use the search feature but what would you recommend I search for?

Hang on, hang on...this might not have come out right or it maybe a bit difficult for you. What I am trying to say here is...What was the BEST discussion you ever had on this forum? Can you direct me to it please...

Much obliged.

I am not asking for every last topic, my friend. I realise how impossible that is. How about just one or two for now. Need something to pass the time, man.

Oh dear, oh dear. Gedo girl sounds to me like another common student! The wretched blighters haunt me in every forum I visit.

Well. Dear inquisitive student,
Thank you for your recent enquiry. I am indeed familiar with the days of the week concept and (though this may come as a surprise to you) realise that most people work during weekdays. I also understand that a mere student may have problems comprehending the variety and freedom found in the workplace and may, occasionally, confuse proper employment with that he/she would occupy themselves with during the summer holidays.

I do have ‘work’ to do and do it to the best of my ability. It’s exciting, interesting and serious. It pays the bills and allows me to afford comfortable living and funds to pursue my various hobbies. What I mean to say is that I don’t work in a bra factory, dear. The job I do does not require me to concentrate on the same repetitive task for eight hours a day without real breaks and time to let my hair down (not that I have hair to begin with).

Occasionally, I may be rushed off my feet but that is where the beautiful art of delegation comes in handy (you’ll learn about it when you, err, grow up).

As for your second comment about Job Centres, do you actually mean to tell me that unemployed people use this site? How do they afford to pay for a computer? Surely you’re mistaken!

It warms my heart to see a student who has her wits about her. Many of your colleagues these days would not know what a recession is, never mind finding out that we are in the midst of one. Mark my words, dear, mark my words. You are going to go far in this world.

Now, I know I’m probably wasting my time here but I’ll ask you again to be a good sport and direct me to a topic worthy of my attention.

Thank you.

Nabeela,

Students offend me. Their mere existence annoys me no end. Yes, there are many intelligent, sensible and interesting students but these are the minority. The majority of students I have had the misfortune to encounter have been dull, obnoxious and absolutely disagreeable.

They have an opinion on EVERYTHING, even though (most times) the opinion itself is plagiarised. They take out huge student loans that better people than they would work a lifetime to make and then go and squander it on utter nonsense (cars, perfumes, a trip to Somalia!). They sleep all day and stay up all night, yet, still hand in their assignments/essays two hours before the deadline. The wasteful kinds hardly attend any lectures and instead rely on spending the week before exams on cramming all the information they could into those empty brains of theirs. The pretentious types never stop having lectures and would spend hours discussing nonsensical pseudo-intellectual trash.

I dislike students because, one day, these buggers will graduate and end up getting a job within earshot of me. We have not had one yet but I dread the day when one of them slithers into our office and cheerily suggests we go to the pub or any similar hellhole after work! Bloody students.

Are you one, Nab? You smell like one to me. Tell me you’re not.
