Serena. I have only know one Somali girl in my life and that was an ex roommate I had a few years back so I can’t give expert testimony to Somali hair type.

She didn’t have very kinky hair but she didn’t have silky wavy hair either. It was close to that of the texture of Obamas daughters. In other words it was not very nappy but still needed some moisturizer oil and a wide toothed comb.

That's pretty much the average hair texture, but Somalis will try to convince you that we have hair texture similar to that of South Asians.

Somalis hair is nowhere near Southeast Asians.

I will say one thing though, I did get a lot of hair caressing from tha sistas in middle & high school but hair does get a bit nappier w/ age.

I’ll take your word for it. When I first came here people tried to convince me that all Somalis were of a clear nutmeg complexion unless they were Bantu. After Somalis began making news head lines a year ago proving they were in color ranging from brown to blick people stopped singing that tune lol.

It was stuff I got at Sallys Bueaty supply. It was called Henna 'n' Placenta. It came in little packages.
