This is a rare piece of historical footage when majority of African Heads visited the Somali capital to attend the The Organisation of African Unity (AOU) Summit. Somalia, at that time, was hosting the meeting since Jaalle Siyaad (RH) was the then chairman.

yeah, my father when he was a kid in school at this time was telling me about how kids welcomed these heads of state and how these africans were shocked the pilots using the fighter jets and planes were actually Somali not Euros or Americans

FAH, that's correct. In fact, the late Burundi President (Micombero) was the first African Head of State to request for Somali trainers. Most Burundi Pilots (during the mid-70's) were trained by Somalis.

I read an article by Thabo Mbeke of South Africa on this OAU summit. As a rights activist, he recalls how he dreamed for his country and [black] people to be like Somalia one day.
Civil war of Somalia began in the 77 and it does still continue.
