You can call it hate, I call it the truth. Islam was "introduced" to Somalia, while Somalia's trading posts were "introduced" to non-Somalian people, then we know the story from there.

Islam was "introduced" in west Africa, then the "berbers" introduced themselves to west africa's wealth, then the conquering christians "introduced" themselves to the rest.

Islam and Christianity may claim to be righteous religions, but have proven to be more about "righteous" economics. Those that bring the religion get rich, while the poor bastards that follow it lose thier country.

That said, i wouldn't blame every muslim for attacks by terrorists. Both religions have economic terrorists that have brought about more destruction. I focus on those people, rather than the blind flock.

Why do you constanltly follow my well thought out replies with ignorant, stupid remarks? Your lack of understanding and shallow reasoning stick out loudly! When and where did I say Arabs enslaved "poor naked Somalis"? Did you notice I put "introduced" in QUOTATIONS!

That usually indicates subtle sarcasm. SUBTLE!. Meaning to say that there is more to that word than its literal definition. The meaning you took out of it shows you know nothing at all! So, if I didn't mean that, then that leaves one other more SUBTLE alternative to how Somalia's trading posts were eventually taken over. The key word...let's try "religious" economics. Does that help?

I was directly addressing a not so subtle
hint that Islam was forced on the local population, and
that the "trading posts" benefitted economically muslim arabs and who ever was aligned to them.

There you go again, using basing your assumptions on completley
different situations and models.

These Trading posts were not even somali in the first place.
I am assuming by trading posts you mean the ancient coastal cities like Ziela, Moqadishu, brava and Merca.
Some were founded by arab and persian traders before islam and some
are even older like Ziela which is mentioned in the periclyes of the Erythrian sea in the 1st century AD.
What you failed to understand is that those cities were inhabited by
now extinct indigenous groups and other non somalis like the afars in Ziela
as well as the arab, persian and Indian trader populations.
Somalis were nomadic herders and came into the picture later,
taking a dominating position over the other groups.


You also complelty left out the spiritual element of the spread of islam, as well as the cultural.
You are an athiest ofcourse and belive all religion is a load of crap,
but if you want to understand the full picture you have to take it in to account.
Economic reasons alone would not explain it.

What you failed to grasp is how close somalis and the arabs of prophet muhammeds time were culturally even before islam.
Both worshiped a supreme Sky god called Waaq or Allah as well as numerous lesser spirits, both had nearly identical clan family structures.
So you could see why somalis would take islam like fish to water.

Islam from its infancy was baptized in war and violence. I know you will say the quran preaches non-violence. That is contestable. But what really matters HOW muslims have behaved in the past, so as to see whether current muslim proponderance for violence is exception or the rule.

It is the incontestable fact that NO caliphate ever listened to what the muslim Ummah ever said. Find me a single muslim caliphate that was governed by the muslim Ummah. So even if the verdict by the muslim Ummah is unanimous for non-violence, what are the likelihood that any muslim leader would listen to them.

Shortly after Mahammed's death, muslims started killing each. That still continues to this date.

The quran DOES permit the use of violence. It can be debated under which circumstances is violence permitted. But one must ask WHY would a book supposedly from God, intended to give moral guidance is permitting violence AT ALL. An entire chapter of the quran is dedicated to WAR BOOTY. How HOLY!
