Don't compare the noble, ancient tradition of chewing khat to filthy practices like smoking and drinking.

It's insulting.

Ilaahay kheyr ha ku siiyo

Surrender, i smoke one cigarette on my way to Taraaweeh and one on my way back from Taraaweeh.
As far as the qaad is concerned, i haven't done it yet as you might have discovered in the other thread but i might just have a session caawa after salaada.

Last year, i've stopped smoking for the first 3weeks of Ramadan just to see if i could actually stop smoking. I managed the 3 weeks without any problems and decided to continue smoking knowing that whenever i want to quit i can do so without any hesitation.

Nalia, it's not a habit but rather a custom.
I believe you assume it's 'discusting' because you have the general image of a man chewing consists of the qaad being visible along the corners of the mouth and dirty teeth.

Alot of us do chew neatly, it's like having table manners or not.

Surrender, ofcourse i dont smoke during the day.........your question was 'How do you guys manage to fast without smoking...' Now if i smoked during the day it would brake my fast wouldn't it

If you're asking me if i smoke during the day other than ramadan then yes.
I never have more than 4 cigarettes a day down from 8 hence i'm cutting down. I believe that you have to cut down first before you can stop.

Most people tackle it the wrong way and try to quit totally just like that which makes it even harder.
