Those side effects are blown up. I read the whole study. It was conducted under questionable circumstances and reputable scientists believe khat is no worse than coffee.

Khat is not an intoxicant, so it doesn't fall under that category. You could argue that it is Makhrooh, but haram? No chance. Scholars unanimously agree that it is legal.

yes it should be, i dont want to get political about it but it is one of the man reason i like al shabaab. they wouldnt tolerate such drug! they would burn the fields where it grows and arrest anyone seen dealing/selling/chewing!

yes walaal khat xashiish and qamri are all banned in shabaab controlled area's well the TFG Somaliland and Puntland should do the same and ban these drugs too.

Khat destroys the family..there is too many Somali single mothers with kids and the fathers are gone chewing khat..walahi you should see the real hardcore khat chewers they look like wax tibisho lafood kudhacay.some of them are toothless becouse of khat..
