Is it TRUE what they say about ISSE

Postby SultanOrder » Sat Sep 12, 2009 5:15 pm

I remember when i was young my grandma would tell me scary urban legends of somalia which of course she believed. And the one i clearly remember is about a certain clan of somali that had the power to turn into Waraabe by hitting themselves with sticks or rocks and they go out and eat people or livestock, Funny thing is when i went to somali galbeed i heard the same stories of the same people that do this and they all believe it, I seen these people who had cut marks on their cheeks and foreheads and there teeth are carved sharp Isse and all the somali's were scared of them even though not all of them turn into durwaags and had stories about them turning and terrorizing jigjiga iyo other cities.

My cousin is married to an Isse. I will make sure to observe his teeth and those of his kids next time I see them.

I DON'T THINK THE PRACTICE STILL GOES ON. EXCEPT IN THE RURAL REGIONS,
I'VE ACTUAL SEEN SOME ISSE PEEPS WITH THEIR TEETH SHARPENED
IT LOOKS ODD BUT AIN'T SCARY.
