Nomadicwarlord djibouti is dictator state, have u seen them ever change leaders? wa may sxb. Ismail guelleh is like the siyad of that place. That is not somewhere that we want our state to be. We have free media in puntland, the most liberal laws for our tv, radio, and newspapers. We need to look at rwanda as an example especially since they have rebuilt their institutions and cementing good governanace. We need to look botswana and see the measures they took to eliminate corruption. Today botswana has $15000 gdp capital person living standard.

We need to look to places that have had good results and see the policies they used. Looking to djibouti is like looking backwards really!!! It is not in the interest of our region puntland. Plus we have oil therefore we need to learn how to manage it in an effective way and minimize corruption so it doesn't just land into the pockets of a very few. Dubai would be good source to see how they managed that and diversified into our growth sectors in their region.

Anyways the point is, we need to look towards the future. Horumar is pointless if there is corruption!!! we need to eliminate corruption to the best of our abilities and make sure we have strong institutions in our land to make sure advancement is a reality.

I was looking at it in terms of peace and tranquility after a civil war. The two ethnic groups in there seem to be living peacefully side by side even though the ruling party dominates the government. The opposition has abandoned its violent ways and now look for change peacefully. Even though the government is heavily influenced by France, there is probably a minimal external factors that could destabilize the country unlike Somalia that is split according to foreign influences. Those are the only things I admire about the country.

Puntland is another story, a way forward for Somalia :up:
