Livestock, Agriculture, Mining & Petroleum

Postby Kanada » Fri Oct 02, 2009 11:10 am

These sectors will be the backbone of Somalia's future economy. Somalis especially in developed countries should persue jobs and education related to these fields.

Agree?

Somalis have always thrived in the serivice industry especially telecom. What they are lacking is the proper institutions and funding. Somalia already has the cheapest phone rate in Africa. The prospects are very high with the right government support and funding.

Fishing is another section. Many Landlocked countries in Africa, we could charge them to use our ports.

Definetely. I forgot about that  . We can easily tap into the huge fishing market in the Middle east and Asia. First thing we need to do is kick those illegal trawllers off our waters.

Sex trafficking will be booming too, especially when we manage to eliminate female genital mutilation from the country. The regional government of Puntland with the sponsorship of an international NGO has initiated a campaign to eliminate the practice in rural areas of the region. The revolution has began and Puntland is spearheading it.

Now, If we could just get that high-tech Fiber optic connection that's coming to several other African nations within the next coupla years, we'd be well ahead in this industry. Btw, Money-wiring seems to be another one thing we've got an abundance of! Maybe because of the Qaxootinimo. idk.
