Shariif: A better Strategy to win the Constituents of 18 reg

Postby Highland » Mon Oct 05, 2009 9:53 pm

What better Strategy can President Shariif take to win the Constituents of 18 regions?

I think he should invite the elders of every region in a big grand conference like the one his predecessor held whose chairman was Ali Mahdi. Yuusuf was doing great until he backed down from an Ethiopian and American led proposal to retake the city of Kismaayo from the extremists, al-Shabaab in the early days. To avoid any policy disagreements between the TFG and its allies, America's under secretary for African Affairs spoke in concert with Abdilaahi Yuusuf affirming his position. It was an embarrasing moment for America to agree with the conciliatory remakrs of TFG's top leader that the issue of Kismaayo was local and that al-Qaeda had no influence over al-Shabaab. This gaffe along with his sacking of PM Gheedi marked the end of his popularity so to eliminate and replace him with more naïve figure came on top of the policy agenda.

President Shariif already has the support of Puntland's five major regions.

How could he win the Northwestern regions as well as Galguduud, Hiiraan, and Middle Shabeele.
By having the North , starting from Mogadishu , his government will be very legitimate.
