Teaching english as a foreign language. (more info needed)

Postby shitguy » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:10 am

I heard the saudis are looking for people to teach English in large scale?. This is one opportunity that i will not let go because the wages in saudia for foreign workers is sky high (especialy westerners) . top it with free accomodation and free air tickets for your holidays plus no tax on your income

I have enrolled for a short course that will start next year april ending in june The same year. the course will only run for less than two months and will equip me with a cambrigde certificate to qualify for a teaching job in Ksa apparently

Who lives iN KSA here in somalinet that can give me upto date info on this said opportunity?

Check this site: http://www.teachaway.com/content/teachi ... udi-arabia

The average Salary is about $36,000 (or £22,000). But when you include the free accommodation and the cheap life style, things don't look that bad for someone looking to spend a year or two in that country. The problem of course is that you are Somali (or at least I assume you are). Saudi Arabia is full of Somalis and you will probably end up mixing with members of your clan and spending all that money away on all sorts of nonsense. Is it worth all that hassle for such a measly sum?

Yeah seems good in theory but remember you wont enjoy many of the rights you enjoy in the west i.e employment rights, they could fire you with little notice etc. Nice for the short term though.
